Peace

If there is to be peace in the world, there must be peace in the nations. If there is to be peace in the nations, there must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities, there must be peace between neighbors. If there is to be peace between neighbors, there must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, there must be peace in the heart.

GOD is Watching Us

Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord; happy are the people he has chosen for his own!" -Psalm 33:12

1. A Merciful God is watching us.
  • "Let them turn to God, our God; he is merciful and quick to forgive." -Psalm 55:7b
  • "Ask, and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock." -Matthew 7:7-8
  • "Be merciful to me, O God, because of your constant love. Because of your great mercy wipe away my sins." -Psalm 51:1
  • "Jesus left that place and went off to the territory near the cities of Tyre and Sidon. A Canaanite woman who lived in that region came to him. "Son of David!" she cried out. "Have mercy on me sir! My daughter has a demon and is in a terrible condition." But Jesus did not say a word to her. His disciples came to him and begged him, "Send her away! She is following us and making all this noise!" Then Jesus replied, "I have been sent only to the lost sheep people of Israel." At this the woman came and fell at his feet, "Help me, sir!" she said. Jesus answered, "It isn't right to take the children's food and throw it to the dogs." "That's true, sir" she answered. "but even the dogs eat the leftovers that fall from the master's table." So Jesus answered her, "You are a woman of great faith! What you want will be done for you." And that very moment her daughter was healed." -Matthew 15:21-28
  • "Everyone whom my Father gives me will come to me. I will never turn away anyone who comes to me." -John 6:37
2. A Powerful God is watching us.
  • "To him who by means of his power working in us is able to do so much more than we can ever ask for, or even think of." -Ephesians 3:20
  • "The disciples went to him and woke him up. "Save us Lord!" they said, "We are about to die!" "Why are you so frightened?" Jesus answered. "What little faith you have!" Then he got up and ordered the winds and the waves to stop, and there was a great calm." -Matthew 8:25-26
  • "Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Why are you frightened? Do you still have no faith?" -Mark 4:40
3. A Holy God is watching us.
  • "They were calling out to each other: "Holy, holy, holy! The Lord Almighty is holy! His glory fills the world." -Isaiah 6:3
  • "Try to be at peace with everyone and try to live a holy life, because no one will see the Lord without it." -Hebrews 12:14
  • "To honor the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil ways and false words." -Proverbs 8:13
  • "So then, my friends, because of God's great mercy to us I appeal to you: Offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service and pleasing to him. This is the true worship that you should offer." -Romans 12: 1
The supernatural Power of God does not depend on the magnitude of your faith. Isn't it amazing to know that the Maker of Heaven and Earth is your best friend? And our best friend is watching us.

Serving God doesn’t mean we’ll no longer have difficulties. We’re still on the battlefield, but we don’t have to fight alone. –Joyce Meyer
Dear Lord, my heart is crying out for more of You. My heart is dumb. My lacrimal gland is fully functional. And my brain is weak. I may not understand everything now but I am putting my complete trust in Your hands. Thy will be done. Amen.

Stepping Away from the Ledge - Dr. Russell Moore

"Then the Devil took Him to Jerusalem and set Him on the highest point of the temple, and said to Him, "If you are the God's Son, throw yourself down from here. For the scripture says, 'God will order His angels to take good care of you.' It also says, 'They will hold you up with their hands so that not even your feet will be hurt on the stones.' But Jesus answered, "The scripture says, 'Do not put the Lord Your God to the test.' When the devil finished tempting Jesus in every way, he left him for a while." -Luke 4: 9-13

No one is exempt from fear, especially the fear of not being protected. In the wilderness, the devil tempted Jesus with the same kind of fear that we all face. Jesus identified with us fully in his experience and humanity and triumphed over these temptations.

Temptation of Verification
  • for this to be a legitimate temptation, the devil had to offer something Jesus wanted. Satan is asking Jesus to test by sight what God has asked Him to test by faith. In other words, the devil was tempting Jesus to prove that God was faithful.
  • the devil says the same to us. He tempts us to test (or verify) by sight what God has asked us to test by faith. At times, the devil tempts us to demand proof and evidence that God is faithful.
Temptation to Vindication
  • Jesus was also tempted to prove that He was the Anointed One, the Son of God, if he will throw himself at the pinnacle of the temple, the angels will bear him up and prove that he was in the right.
  • We are tempted the same way. We want to prove ourselves right. We want to clear our name of blame or suspicion. We want to protect our reputation.
  • Jesus rejects vindicating himself. He knows that in the coming years of his ministry, he will be mocked, ridiculed, reviled, sinfully judged, cursed, rejected, called fraud, and killed. But Jesus also knows that on the third day after his death, he will walk out of the grave and validate all that God declared, "You are my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased."
There is something freeing about walking away from the edge of a cliff, you don't need to prove anything. You can walk back from the ledge and say it doesn't mean that I am out of danger. You can say that "I am carrying the cross and I don't have anything to prove because I am singing. I'm singing my lament, I'm singing my sorrow. I'm singing my anger and I'm singing my pain. But I'm also singing with Jesus in the fact that the word I heard is true and true for me." And as you say that, remember, "Jesus is singing back."

Listen here.

Share Joy, Half the Sorrow

Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow. There is no need for you to do it alone. There are people who love you, and who are ready to give you much needed support. There are even more, - way more than you can possibly imagine, people who CAN love you if you give them a chance. Make "share joy, half the sorrow" your motto for today. :)
When there's a need sensed by a few, and each individual understand his responsibility, and gives his all regardless of the odds, then Jesus works a miracle. -John C. Maxwell

Hold On

Hold on to what is good, even if it's a handful of earth. Hold on to what you believe, even if it's a tree that stands by itself. Hold on to what you must do, even if it's a long way from here. Hold on to your faith, even if it's easier to let go. God is there for you to hold on.

1st day of 2012

i walked. for 30 minutes i just walked. not sure of where to go to. until i reached the open beach in Abu Dhabi. i stayed there looking at the beauty of the moon and the stars in the sky, feeling the breeze on my skin, listening to the sweet and calming sound of the sea.

talking to no one, I suddenly feel the urge of singing a song for Jesus Christ. i just want to praise Him during that time. i know i am not a good singer but for that moment I don't care. i sing and sing and sing of praises for Him.

i talked. He listened. I cried. the pain is trying to destroy me, i know that for sure, but He comforted me. He listened to every word I have to say. the pain is just too much i know i can no longer bear it, He carry my load. I cry and sing for quite some time.

15 minutes before 2012, two Arabian Family seat beside me. they both have a lovely child. one was girl (Maram) and the other was boy (Omar). we didn't talk at first. the baby boy just keeps on crying and crying while the baby girl (who's older) just play around. at 12, there were fireworks. the baby boy again cried so the mother was left with no choice but carry her child. they were just beside me. the boy looks at me and guess what? he smiled. every time i would look at the boy, he smiles and stares at me.

his mommy: this little naughty boy smiled at you. i think he likes you and the reason why he's crying awhile ago is because he can't see you clearly. see? he stops crying.
me: and i think you have a very lovely little boy.

another hour past without me noticing the time. the boy and i just play and laugh. the family talks to me too. they know some tagalog words like: magandang gabi. maganda ka. ano ang mobile number mo? and san ka nakatira. haha. so loveee talking to them.i really wanted to stay but i badly need to go because the house was far from the beach and it will take me another 30 minutes of walk to be able to go home..

me: i think i need to say bye for now.
his mom: oh, for sure he will miss you. thank you for your time thess. we're glad to meet you.
me: me too. your boy made my day. i was so sad awhile ago but when he smiles at me, all the pain was gone.
his mom: oh. he must have felt it and wanted to see you smile too. and thank you for your smile, yours is the sweetest smile i've ever seen, no kidding.
me: thank you. you have a wonderful family.
them: happy new year thess and merry Christmas. (they've greeted me merry Christmas though they are muslims hehe)
omar: (laughs then gave me a high five)

and i must say, that was the most spectacular new year celebration for me, ever!! a long time for my God and His gift. His unexpected gift of smile from a little boy. Oh how I love Jesus Christ. He never fails me. :) This is a good year for me, an overcomer I will be, because God remains in me. :)
